Market leaders join forces to change the face of currency exchange rate board Digital Signage - (29/01/09)

Vision-Text, the UK's leading supplier of digital currency exchange rate display boards, today announced a joint venture with Pixel Inspiration, the digital signage agency, to deliver next-generation digital currency exchange rate solutions to the travel and banking sectors.

Currency exchange rate boards traditionally deliver updated prices via a static LED display board, but the joint venture will enable Vision-Text to offer the next generation of Digital Signage powered currency exchange rate displays. The new displays present financial data, alongside advertising and information content in an animated digital format across LCD or plasma screens.

Many of the UK's leading travel and financial organisations such as Travelex, TUI, Money shop and International Currency Exchange already rely on Vision-Text's technology to display up-to-the-minute currency exchange rate information, which can be controlled and updated either locally, over a network, wirelessly or from a live data feed.

Pixel Inspiration, which has installed multi-screen installations for organisations including Manchester Airport, Thomas Cook and Britannia Building Society, will be providing Plasma and LCD screens, content design and software and hardware infrastructure for the installation of large format networks. In addition, Pixel's R&D department will further develop and incorporate the Visionrate software in future product development.

The joint venture is seen as a major step forward in the development of commercially and visually effective full colour digital rateboard signage, with the objective to transform the marketplace from using static display boards to using Digital Signage.

A standard software and hardware package will be customised and modified to meet specific customer requirements and deliver real time synchronised updates.
