Revolutionising the in-store experience across the Boots UK estate
Boots is the UK's leading health and beauty retailer with around 2,500 stores ranging from local community pharmacies to large destination health and beauty stores.
In 2019, after a significant period of internal benchmarking of digital signage management software platforms, Boots approached Pixel to understand how we could help them deliver a large-scale roll out of Scala and the related display infrastructure required to enhance their re-invented and flagship stores.
As one of Europe’s largest and most experienced implementers of the Scala digital signage content management system, we were able to quickly demonstrate that we had the knowledge and scale to assist with the rapid roll-out required by the brand. This involved the specification and procurement of a range of LCD and LED displays, including some custom hardware made specifically to match their in-house design guidelines; custom mounting solutions; discrete media players and network appliances.
Our project management, pre-configuration, support and installation teams worked hand-in-hand with the client’s IT, merchandising, electrical and logistics contractors to ensure that each store was provided with the necessary equipment and overnight support needed to bring everything online and into BAU support.
The digital media network continues to grow and currently features over 2000 connected displays, each performing a range of POS duties for Boots and their partner brand concessions. All assets are monitored and supported 7 days a week from our NOC and on-site engineering teams to ensure the best reliability and smooth integration with the internal Store Care team.
