Daily exchange rates for 240+ stores

Sainsbury’s Bank became the first supermarket bank in the UK 1997 and in early 2014, expanded their services by offering a range of award-winning financial products including travel money.

The Challenge

Sainsbury’s Bank first engaged Pixel in 2012 to act as their in-store digital solutions agency. Their Rugby store was having a Saisnbury’s Bank Travel Money bureau fitted, requiring an integrated digital rateboard solution.

Our Approach

Foreign Exchange rates are supplied to our solution via a data feed, which is then integrated with dynamic content templates to simulate a traditional rate board style. A series of business rules are applied to the content schedules to ensure that rates are always up-to-date. This content is supplemented by marketing related content pieces supplied by Sainsbury’s Bank and animated by Pixel. Since that first site, we have now installed 400 screens across the 240 Travel Money bureau sites Sainsbury’s Bank run across the UK.

The Outcome

Since that first site, we have now installed and continue to manage over 400 screens across the 240 Travel Money bureau sites.
