Digital Video Walls across the Toyota UK Showroom Estate

With a UK estate of over 150 showrooms, there is probably a Toyota showroom near you that contains a Pixel managed video wall.

the challenge

In 2010, Toyota were embarking on full refresh of their showroom network. The design included a 4 screen video wall, situated in the customer hub area, where visitors are able to relax while their vehicle is being serviced. Toyota knew that they could procure the screens needed from virtually any source, but they wanted a provider who would monitor and maintain the displays for the long-term, as well as providing an advanced content management and distribution platform.

Our Approach

The video wall design used 4 displays connected together in a 4x1 portrait format, we selected NEC P series displays for this task due to their excellent reliability and longevity, together with their ability to internally provide matrixing of the input signal.

With so many showrooms across the country, we employed the rules based content distribution of Scala to provide for simple targeting of playlist items. We also used the localisation feature of Scala to show a unique welcome message at each showroom.

The Outcome

All showrooms have now been upgraded and include our managed digital signage solution, allowing content from various sources to be quickly deployed across the country, whilst our support team take care of the monitoring and maintenance of this 600 screen digital network.
